Order replacement Techselect equipment

1) To view devices assigned to you in the Hamline Service Portal, go to the portal at https://hamline.service-now.com/sp and then click on "Login" in the upper right part of the window.

2) Click on "Get Help"

3) Click on "Replacement Device Request"

This will bring you to another screen to allow you to select what device(s) you want to replace.

Requested for = defaults to the logged in user.  Change if you want to make a request on behalf of someone else

Preferred completion date = date to deliver the new device.  Minimum 1 day.

Asset to replace = select the node number of the device you are looking to replace from the dropdown list.  Only the devices that are expiring within the next quarter that are assigned to the user selected in "Requested for" will be shown.  If you want to replace more than one device, you can check the box for "Select Multiple", and it should allow you to select more than one device.

Replacement Preference = can be "Not replacing" (just pick up the old device for return, no replacement device is necessary), "Replace like for like" (replace the device with a new device with the similar specifications), or "Replace with something different" (replace with a device with different specifications).  "Replace with something different" will require budget manager approval, and will kick off a process for ITS to reach out to you to discuss what you are looking for.

Once you have filled out the forms, it should submit the request.  To view your request, you can go to "My Stuff", and your Replacement Device Request should be listed:

You can click on the "Replacement Device Request" to check status

 

If you select "Replace with something different", we will consult with you on what that replacement will be.  Once the replacement device is selected, the request will be routed to the cost center Manager for approval.  The approval will show up in the service portal for the cost center manager under "Approvals"

The cost center manager can click on "Approvals" to bring up the Requested Item, and then "Approve" or "Reject"

If the item is approved, it should create a new task for ITS to deploy the replacement device.
